I want to know about you....

STILL NOT SURE?

Your Questions, Answered.

How old should my baby be at the time of the session?

The "best" time is when you are ready. Technically babies are newborns up until 6 weeks of age but if you want those sleepy photos, the optimal time is between 5-14 days.

How long does a session take?

A newborn session usually takes around 2hrs, depending on how settled the baby is. My sessions are completely baby led and I allow 3 hours so you don't feel rushed or anxious about running out of time. Most of the session will be spent settling and feeding the baby, and that is totally ok. Baby comes first. Always.

Can my older children come to the session?

Of course! This is not just about the baby, it's about you becoming a new family and each of the siblings being promoted to big sis/bro status and needs to be celebrated!

Can I bring my pet?

No. As much as I love animals (I have two dogs myself) and I know they are a part of the family, but for hygiene reasons, there are no pets allowed in the studio unfortunately.

What should we wear?

I have everything you need for baby, and some dresses for mum in my client wardrobe. If you are choosing your own outfit, warm neutrals photograph really well. So basically every shade of cram and brown you can think of. LOL! Don't match everyone but compliment eachother instead. Textures are your best friend...mix them up...wool, linen, stripes, etc.

Are grandparents allowed to come to the session?

Absolutely! Grandparents can be added for an additional small fee of $50.

What if my baby won't settle?

I've been doing this for years and there has never been an instance where I wasn't able to get a beautiful gallery. I actually love the awake photos. If baby is unsettled it's usually because they're hungry or they have wind...both of which we can fix. Don't stress... this is exactly why newborn sessions are longer than a normal family session. We just take our time and give baby lots of cuddles.

What should I bring?

Bring the usual things you bring when you leave the house.. but also bring a dummy (even if they don't usually take one, believe me on this) and a spare bottle...or your boob if breastfeeding :) Also bring snacks to keep any older kids happy...and their favourite toy so they have something to keep them entertained.

When will I get my images?

I usually deliver your gallery within 2-3 weeks of our session date.

What if my baby doesn't arrive on it's due date?

Don't panic, they rarely arrive when they're supposed to. LOL! Just let me know once they're here and we'll reschedule if we need to.

What if someone in the family is unwell?

Life happens! And life with kids is unpredictable so don't stress, just let me know as soon as possible and we will reschedule. Your family's health is the most important thing. Period.

What if my partner doesn't want to come?

Bring him anyway, I'll win him over! Men hate photoshoots with a passion. I get it, they don't like feeling awkward. Who does?! But once they're there and see how easy it is, they soon come around.

What are your prices?

Yes, let's get down to business! My newborn sessions begin at $475 and include 10 professionally edited high resolution images for you to choose from a fully gallery of carefully curated images. Full details of all packages are available on my website.

I'm so awkward, exhausted and don't feel like myself.

This is what I hear from most mums, and I felt like that too when I'd just given birth. You are not alone! I want you to come into my beautiful studio and i will do all the work, that's my job. I''l gently guide you through it without making you feel like you're posing for a catalogue. I've got you mumma!

TESTIMONIALS

Don't just take my word for it, listen to these mums!

ABOUT ME

Hey, I'm Kaz!

I'm Kaz. I'm Irish, I live in Perth, and I photograph newborns in my home studio in Hilton, near Freo.

I'm a mum of two wild, wonderful girls. You'll usually find us jumping waves, covered in sand, or fighting over who gets the good swing.

I've always been obsessed with the little moments. Not the posed, perfect ones. The real ones. The chaos, the cuddles, the tiny fingers, the exhausted smiles. Becoming a mum made me see how quickly it all changes, and that's what made me pick up my camera with intention.

But I also know the road to parenthood isn't easy for everyone. Before my second, I had five early losses. So when I hold your baby, I don't take it lightly. I know what it took to get here. I know how precious this is. And I know you might be feeling a mix of things you didn't expect.

My studio is a soft, calm space. There's no rush, no pressure, no performing. Just your baby being perfectly new, and someone who genuinely understands how much this moment means to you. My heart and soul goes into every single session and my clients always feel like long lost friends so be prepared to be hugged on your way out!

Why choose me?

Warm & Cosy Studio

Your home doesn't need to be photoshoot-ready. Everything happens in my studio in Hilton, so you can show up as you are. No tidying, no stress about the space. I've got the setup sorted so you can just be present with your baby while I handle the rest.

Baby Led

Sessions move at your baby's pace. If they need to feed, we pause. If they're sleepy, we work with that. I'm not forcing poses or racing through a checklist. Your newborn sets the rhythm, and I capture what happens naturally. You get real moments, not a stressed baby and a stressed parent.

Dads ACTUALLY Enjoy

Plenty of dads show up thinking this isn't really their thing. Turns out, watching your newborn be calm and present while someone captures it properly hits different. You end up with images of your baby that actually show who they are, and you get to just be there. Most dads walk away saying they wish they'd booked it sooner.
